What? A guided running tour through Brussels, following the 77 pencils drawn on Brussels walls, gates, shutters and bridges .
Why? Discover the city from a different perspective.
When? October 14th, 2012, the day you’ll be using a… pencil for the municipal elections! Starts at 13:00 at Place St-Boniface, Ixelles
How long? It’s as long as a marathon (42km), but there are meeting points every 5km, so you can hop on and hop off whenever you like. For more details about meeting points see route description.

Route Meeting Points
- Place Flagey Plein (middle of the square) - transit between 13:30 and 13:35
- Gare Etterbeek Station (in front of Draftbar) - transit between 13:55 and 14:10
- Buyl / Bld Général Jacques (in front of Syllabuse) - transit between 14:35 and 15:00
- Bar du Matin / Av. Albert (at Metro entrance rue Diderich straat) - transit between 15:10 and 15:40
- Janson / Chée de Charleroi (in front of Snack La Vigne) - transit between 16:00 and 16:35
- Recyclart (in front of the station entrance) - transit between 16:20 and 17:05
- Sainctelette (in front of Espace 27 septembre) - transit between 16:45 and 17:35
- Ijzer (metro entrance av Héliport) - transit between 17:10 and 18:10

- Are there really 77 pencils? No, there are probably much more, we don’t know how much.
- How much does it cost to participate? It’s a free event. However, you will need to have 2 euro, for a reason that will be disclosed on October 14th.
- Are there drinks provided along the way? No, you’re running in full autonomy.
- Is there an insurance? Yes, if you didn’t see any pencil we refund you 100% of your subscription fee.
- We will see Manneken Pis? Yes, we’ll make a break once a while to be our own Manneken Pis.
- Can I join on a bicycle? Yes, but if you’re slow we won’t wait for you.
- Is this a monthly or yearly event? No, this is your only chance to participate in the pencilrun. However, if you like the concept, contact Brussels Sightjogging for guided running tours.
- I’m not Pencil Man. I don’t know who Pencil Man is. But I do know people who know people who don’t know who Pencil Man is.
- We might get lost. But look at the up-side: If we do, you’ll be running your 1st ultra-marathon.
- We might see other things besides Pencils: Space Invaders, Matrouchka’s, Bonom drawings, …
- Be prepared for Belgian weather. The run is on no matter what falls from the sky.
